Ray Johnson took the helm as Director of the New Sound Assembly Chorus in January 2016.  Ray comes from a line of barbershoppers, his parents having met at barbershop functions.  Ray sang barbershop through his college years at the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford and helped to take his collegiate-formed quartet, Men in Black, to the District and International competition stages. 

Ralph Kerr serves as Assistant Director of the New Sound Assembly Chorus. Ralph began singing in children's choirs at age 7 and has been singing ever since in community and church choirsralph

and other musical groups. Ralph has been a member of the chorus since 1990, has served as President and Director, and has been a recipient of the chorus' Barbershopper of the Year award. Singing lead, Ralph currently performs with the award-winning chapter quartet, Beantown Bound.

Nick Colaianni is Assistant-Director No.2 of the New Sound Assembly Chorus. A formally trained musician, Nick became involved with barbershop in 1957 and has been singing in quartets and choruses ever since. He has attended Harmony College multiple times for coaching quartets and directing choruses. Nick currently sings in a chapter quartet, singing tenor for Beantown Bound.
